The Early Years Podcast Episode 013Professors Christine Pascal OBE & Tony Bertram, July 2016 May 201
In the early years podcast episode 13 we talk to the esteemed Professors Christine Pascal OBE and Tony Bertram from the famous Centre for Research in Early Childhood.
Tony and Chris join us to talk about their findings from the “High Achieving White Working Class Boys Research Project”.
Our new favourite scholarly pairing decided to carry out some research on the ethnic group that is academically most underachieving. That group is white working class boys.
Despite the predictive factors, there are some white working class boys who succeed. So Chris and Tony wanted to look at those positives and see what they can learn about the factors that enable the high achievers to thrive – despite the incredibly challenging conditions they might face.
It is fascinating.
It’s a great listen and one you don’t want to miss. In fact, you might even find it so interesting that you want to tell other people about it. You can do so by giving us a rating on itunes or by sharing via twitter (we’re at EYpodcast) or in the old fashioned way of speaking to someone! As always, we hope you enjoy listening.
